New Additions to the Chiefs Roster for 2011 — Part 1 (Undrafted Rookie Free Agents)

The Chiefs have been quietly adding talent and not fishing for the elite player. They are being smart in the first year of the newCBA and I believe it will pay dividends for them later in this new deal as more details are learned.
On Monday at 10AM, teams could begin signing their own drafted players and Undrafted Rookie Free Agents. Here is who has been added so far:
DL Brandon Bair (Oregon), 6'-6" 276lb. 40yd: 4.92s. In 2010 he recorded 45 tackles and 3 sacks. He is a big guy with some decent speed. He will most likely split time with Dorsey and Jackson as a DE in the Chiefs scheme.
TE Charlie Gantt (Michigan State), 6'-5" 260lb. 40yd: 4.85s. In 2010 he recorded 24 receptions for 301 yards and 3 TD's. The TE has good speed and great size. His numbers are not terribly impressive and look for the Chiefs to use him more as a run blocking TE.
OL Chris Harr (Tennessee-Chattanooga), 6'-6" 260lb. 40yd: 5.12s. A converted TE in college. I see this pick as a depth pick since he can be used as either a Guard or Tackle in Kansas City. Look for a trick play or 2 where the OT goes and makes a TD snag.
OL Mike Ingersoll (North Carolina), 6'-5" 303lb. 40yd:5.06s. Another converted TE in college. This is the same as previous pick by I dont see as much flexibility. Maybe only used as a Guard in the Chiefs line-up.
LB Amara Kamara (Temple), 6'-1" 240lb. 40yd: 4.75s. Talk about some speed for a bigger guy. In 2010 he recorded 55 tackles and should be able to have enough speed to cover sideline to sideline if not sent on a blitz. Look for the Chiefs to use him as a DE/OLB to help put pressure on QB's.
OL Butch Lewis (USC), 6'-5" 295lb. 40yd: 5.12s. More depth as a offensive linemen. I like how the Chiefs are adding depth at that position with rookies, and building for the future. Could play either Guard or Tackle.
OT David Mims (Virginia Union), 6'-8" 335lb. 40yd: 5.32s. Talk about massive frame. I don't know if Cassel will be able to throw over this guy. This guy has the flexibility and technique to be a great addition to the Chiefs as a Right Tackle.
DL Lucas Patterson (Texas A&M), 6'-4" 295lb. 40yd: 5.10s. in 2010 he recorded 50 tackles, 3 sacks and 1 forced fumble. He can play DE as of now, but add 15-20lb. on to that frame and you may have a solid NT.
WR Josue Paul (Central Connecticut State) - Scott Pioli Alma-Mater, 6'-1" 190lb. 40yd: 4.51s. I could not find any stats from 2010 but this has hidden gem written all over it. Could easily challenge for a slot position or a 4th WR position, but most likely a KR/PR.
DB Demond Washington (Auburn) 5'-9" 182lb. 40yd: 4.45s. In 2010 he recorded 48 tackles, 1 sack, 3 interceptions. He also led the SEC and was 6th in the NCAA in 2009 with an average return yardage of 31.1yd. In 2010 he recorded over 1000 return yards. Could play some Nickle sets, but I see primarily as a KR/PR
I like what the Chiefs have done with the rookies, and I believe that most of them will make the starting roster. Some good depth was added along the offensive line, and more KR/PR weapons were added. I think the idea of having McCluster return kicks and be a WR was a bad idea. Let the man do 1 position and 1 position only. Either WR or KR/PR. All that high speed contact will take a toll on his little frame. Why do you think Charles sees so few touches early on in the season. They are trying to save him for later and try to make a push for the post season.
