45/100 Transformers

I was recently watching the first Transformers movie on TV and was reminded that most people complain about not being able to recognize the robots or be able to tell whats going on. Everybody just seems to be confused what they look like for some reason.

Maybe I guess my nerd for movies helps me, but I don't see what the problem is, granted I will say there are time that I may not be able to tell what from what, but everybody should realize that it is a movie, and the robots are aliens from another planet. So what part of the movie is suppose to make sense? Movies are generally made for entertainment purposes, and Transformers is defiently not any different, atleast not yet.

Maybe I need to go back and watch the second one and see if it gets confusing, but I vagily remember paying pretty close attention to that detail and still thought the same thing. So in 2012 when I believe Transormers 3 is suppose to come out, can we please just enjoy the movie for what it is suppose to be worth and not be so picky when it comes to a detail that isn't suppose to make sense. If you want to understand what your seeing and need it simpler, then go watch the cartoon series.

27/100 Yahoo! Modern Classic Movies

Wonder what the top 100 Modern classics might be since 1990, well Yahoo recently published just such a list.

I figured I would have been able to mark off a lot more in the 100 then 36, but there are a suprising amount of foreign flicks, plus quite a few from the last couple years, and then there was the time I was pretty busy with the military (2001-2003) even though part of it I worked in a movie store. There are quite a few that I probably should see, but when there are some that I should see, there are some that i obviously haven't been in a rush to see.

I fully plan on watching quite a few of these in the near future because I didn't realize some of these movies are so highly tauted. So maybe by the end of the year I should be up to 50 movies. I mean that only gives me 14 that I need to watch to have half of them watched.

At quick thought, just because I will end up over thinking it, my top 10 of the ones I have actually watched/seen include:
Groundhog Day
Forrest Gump
Big Lebowski
Saving Private Ryan
Fight Club
The Matrix
Anchorman:The Legend of Ron Burgundy
Shaun of the Dead
40 Year Old Virgin

My top 2 are Fight Club and Shaun of the Dead, with Fight Club beating out Shaun of the Dead, but barely.

26/100 Alice in Wonderland

Recently Tim Burton directed in his typical fashion Alice in Wonderlan. I thought that this was a great idea, because Alic in Wonderland is suppose to be pretty dark and grim.

Even the Disney portrayal of Alice in Wonderlan was pretty dark if you look at it closely and you know Disney tries to make everything kid friendly. I have yet to ever read the book, but everytime I see a version in film form I see slight variations that i know are in the book.

Rim Burton's Alice in Wonderland is no different, even introducing the Jabberwocky, which appears to be in the actual book. If there was only a way to verify that? (Thank you wikipedia, proven) Anyway, where was I going? Tim's version is pretty much to be expected, so if you like Tim Burton films like Edward Scissorhands, Sleep Hollow, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd, wait a minute all those have Johnny Depp in them as does this movie portraying the Mad Hatter awesomely, I think.

This version of Alice in Wonderland is pretty incredible, and if your a bif gan of Alice in Wonderland kind of like me, then you should go check out Syfy's version entitled Alice.

24/100 Celebrity Home Theater

I doubt that Ryan Seacrest actually spends much time in his home theater, because he seems to be involved with everything, but this is a very nice setup.

Something that I have wanted since I realized I was such a movie weirdo and after seeing a couple in some episodes of MTV Cribs was a personal home theater.

I recently came across an article that showed off 15 different celebrity home theaters. Some of these look just as to be expected from a celebrity. Some look like you might find in a normal person's house, and then there is at least one celebrity that made the entrance to his home theater look like an actual theater.

I fully plan on having a personal theater in some aspect, even if I have to wait till I'm 60, because it would be completely worth it and I would enjoy every single movie I could on it till the day I die.

Most of you probably don't feel the same way I do, but after you see some of these theaters you may feel the same way. maybe I'm just a weirdo, especially when it comes to movies. Actually I know I'm a weirdo when it comes to movies, and you'll find that out more and more as you read through my other blog post.

And now for the pictures of the celebrity home theaters:

Kevin Smith's: Cop Out

The latest and greatest from Mr. Kevin Smith is entitled Cop Out. It stars Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan as two cops that mess up and our suspended, yet due to other issues they continue to investigate on certain matters. At first glance you would think its a Lethal Weapon Spoof, and I think in some aspects it is, but it obviously isn't. I know that doesn't make sense. Still not sure what to think about this movie, well let me tell you this; if you like comedy and Bruce Willis, not taking in account Death Becomes Her or Blind Date, this movie is really pretty funny. You include Tracy Morgan, who oddly most people around me don't seem to have a clue who he really is, and the movie becomes HI-larious. These two actors definitely sign is this not so typical movie for either one of them. I think that this is probably one of Kevin Smith's best movies that he has done or at least I would rank it up there amongst my favorites from him, and possibly total. Besides Kevin Smith directing with Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan being top billed, this movie has a pretty good amount of other actors/actress in it including: Seann William Scottwho you all know as Stiffler from the American Pie movies, Rashida Joneswho might know recently from "I Love You, Man" and has also been on "The Office" as Karen Filippelli, Adam Brody, Kevin Pollak, Guillermo Diaz, Jason Lee and Michelle Trachtenberg.

All and all I really enjoyed this movie and I think that goes without being said, even though I just said that. Whatever its my blog. Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic didn't really give it that great of a score, but they are comprised of mostly critics, so what the hell do they know about good movies. If you are a fan of Kevin Smith, Bruce Willis or Tracy Morgan then you have to check this movie out. Since I'm a fan of all three and just movies all together, I made sure to actually check it out in the theater.

In closing I think that this is an absolute must rent (because of the times and economy) and possibly a must buy. This is not only one good comedy, but possibly one of the best Cop comedy movies I've seen in a long time, excluding Naked Gun.
